CCUS Workshop

The First Mile CCS Logistics Solution for Small and Mid-size Emitters. CCS logistics is one of the challenges needed to be solved. The energy transformation needs effective and all-embracing solutions to capture and transport CO2.

Captured CO2 may either be utilized in industrial processes or stored permanently. Norway is hosting the first large scale CCS value chain project through Northern Lights. This is however not set up to capture the coming and required flow of CO2 captured by small and medium volume of emitters.

The FIRST MILE – i.e. handling of CO2 from the emitter to storage, requires flexibility and scalable solutions.  ACUS has been working together with partners, UMOE Composite and ASCO over the last years focusing on these challenges.

Workshop Program Outline:

09.00 ACUS – Who are we? Thomas Jørpeland, CEO, ACUS AS

09.30 Current CCS storage offers Offshore Norway, On- and Offshore Denmark

  • Norwegian offshore CO2 storage concept – Eva Halland, an independent Consultant and international CCS storage expert, main author of the CO2 Atlas from the Norwegian Continental Shelf Directorate.
  • The Danish CCS approach
